Read ABR. I can’t explain how vital this e-book will be as a primer for blog money making. The core concepts, tools and disciplines for income-generating blogging are in these pages.
1. Figure out the Concept of your Blog. The idea of a concept might feel immense at first but don’t let it stop you. All you need is a topic for your site. What are you going to write about?
2. Set up Your Blog. You can do this in just a couple of hours. Get a self-hosted WordPress blog hooked with a good provider like Gator. It’s really easy. If you need help – our free ABS lessons will walk you through the entire process.
3. Stock up on Keywords. Use the Google Keyword Tool or Niche Finder to zero in and find niche keywords for your blog. Target long tail keywords with your articles and posts. Using easier keywords will yield organic readers once you begin building backlinks and marketing your pages. Your content and blog pages MUST aim for terms that people are actually searching for online. This is crucial in putting the odds in your favor when it comes to blog money making.
4. Content Creation. Roll up those sleeves and start writing. Content is everything – the more you post, the more traffic you’ll receive – which in turn will enable you to make more money. You have to be committed to this part of the equation. Giving up on delivering steady quality content is probably the number one reason why most bloggers fail. If you can’t handle the content creation – outsource. Find writers on oDesk and Fiverr. Or contact services like Content Authority.
5. SEO and Marketing. Begin your marketing efforts by building backlinks pointing to your site. Article marketing and Social Bookmarking is the best way to get started with online promotion. It’s all free and will enable your blog to get indexed in major search engines and receive free traffic. The first thing we always do when we publish a blog is submit a handful of articles to major article directories like EzineArticles and Go Articles. We follow that up with directories using a manual directory submission Service. That’s just the tip of the iceberg – blog marketing never stops – casting a wider net every single week means more readers. More readers means more profit potential!
6. Monetize. Start by setting up something nice and easy like Google AdSense to get dollars coming your way. Don’t expect a lot at first – thinking you’re going to make money overnight is not a good idea. Focus on getting traffic to your blog – as the bucks start building. Try your hand at affiliate marketing and pushing products for profits using services like ClickBank and Amazon Associates. You can also opt to sell your own products like digital or hard goods. once you have the targeted traffic you can do anything. Focus on traffic.
7. Don’t Stop! If you’re serious about writing a blog for money, you have to be ready to put in some real work. You won’t make money in mere weeks. It WILL take months to get traffic and see some real cash coming your way. If you have blogging experience and feel confident with your Internet skills, I would also recommend setting up a few secondary blogs to compliment or add to your main blog. Stay committed and don’t give up. Stick to the fundamentals and you will make money.

I’m trying to use the Google keywords finder. I guess I’m confused. Can you explain whether I want low, medium or high competition keywords? Is low better because fewer people are using them on their blogs? Or is high better because lots of people are searching for these terms? Please clarify.
